Winner will be selected by random drawing and notified @ noon on April 7, 2023.
TICKETS: 1 for $20 | 6 for $100 | 40 for $500 | 100 for $1000
The winner is entitled to a package of TWO guided viewing permits for McNeil River State Game Sanctuary June 15-18, 2023. The two permits enable access to the remote wilderness camp at McNeil River and award the winner two of the ten highly coveted slots in the daily guided bear viewing group for all four days. The raffle prize also includes $8,000 towards transportation to the sanctuary, lodging, and necessary supplies to make the trip to McNeil as memorable as possible. During this permit window at the sanctuary, bears will be observed feeding on vegetation on the sedge flats in front of camp, fishing for sockeye salmon in Mikfik Creek, and pairing up for mating season! June is an exciting time to be at McNeil! This is a perfect opportunity for photographers, adventurers, or anyone who appreciates wild Alaskan Brown Bears.
Every ticket purchased helps fund conservation and management of Alaska's non-game species. Even if you don’t win a permit, we’re all winners when we contribute to conservation!

2022 Alaska Bear Viewing Raffle
in Bear Viewing Permits for 2 at the World Famous McNeil River Alaska State Game Sanctuary!
You can support conservation management of Alaska's wild bears and get an up close personal experience of a lifetime thanks to our contributing partners! This is a perfect opportunity for photographers, adventurers, or anyone who appreciates wild Alaskan Brown Bears.
Details for the 2022 McNeil River State Game Sanctuary brown bear viewing permit raffle held by the Outdoor Heritage Foundation of Alaska (OFHA) (Alaska Gaming Permit #2854):
The winner of this raffle will be entitled to:
two access permits for viewing brown bears at the sanctuary, lodging in Homer, Alaska, and floatplane transportation from Homer to the sanctuary. Cost: raffle tickets cost $20 each, 6 for $100, 40 for $500
Dates: raffle tickets will be sold online until 11:59pm on April 24, 2022.
Drawing: one winner will be drawn at noon on May 2, 2022 at the office of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, 333 Raspberry Road, Anchorage, Alaska.
Notification: The winner need not be present and will be notified by phone, email and published on the OHFA website: www.OHFAK.org
Who: open to all; VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
Permits: winner will receive two (2) Guided Viewing Permits from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G), valid for viewing bears at the McNeil River State Game Sanctuary on July 13 to July 16, 2022. The winner may assign these permits through the ADF&G to anyone they choose.
Airfare: roundtrip transportation for two (2) via floatplane has been graciously donated by Alaska Northwind Aviation in Homer. www.northwindak.com
Lodging: lodging for two (2) (standard room, double occupancy) in Homer has been graciously donated by Aspen Hotels www.aspenhotelsak.com July 11th & Otter Beach Lodges www.otterbeachlodges.com July 16th.
Proceeds: The Outdoor Heritage Foundation of Alaska is a 501c3 charitable educational organization and the official foundation of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. OHFA is offering this opportunity though ADF&G’s Special Access Permit program. All net revenue generated from this raffle will benefit the McNeil River sanctuary, the ADF&G’s sanctuary and refuge program, and education in outdoor traditions. All projects will help with the conservation of Alaska’s lands and wildlife.

The Outdoor Heritage Foundation of Alaska is a 501c3 charitable educational organization and the official foundation of the Alaska Department of Fish & Game offering this opportunity though special statue provisions for big game hunt tags. Revenue from this year’s partnership raffle is dedicated to Alaska’s Fish & Wildlife Safeguard program.
Fish and Wildlife Safeguard is a non-profit volunteer citizen's organization that works in cooperation with the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. By providing a toll-free hotline phone number which citizens may call to report a resource law violation, the organization gives the public an opportunity to become involved in protecting Alaska's natural resources. The Outdoor Heritage Foundation of Alaska is dedicated to ethical sustained harvest of our fish and wildlife resources and provides reward funds for reports that lead to successful prosecution of harvest violations. Report violations to 1 - 800 - 478 - 3377.
Thanks to all those who supported this effort we raised $208,000.00 in charitable funds. Efforts like this allow charities in Alaska to make up for state funding shortfalls. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game began offering big game harvest permits for auction or raffle in 1997. Since then, over 40 different nonprofit organizations have participated in the program, generating over a million dollars for state wildlife management projects. The funding generated by the program is deposited, along with all other hunting license and tag fees, into the Fish and Game Fund. The Fish and Game Fund is used as match to the federal Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration program. Auction revenue leverages more funding, largely for big game projects. Other raffles are currently being conducted by multiple groups taking advantage of additional allowances for online charitable gaming passed by the Alaska Legislature this year. OHFA recently raised $80,000.00 through a McNeil Bear Sanctuary Viewing permit raffle to dedicate to that management program and coordinated with other outdoor groups to raise $585,000.00 together through a Super 7 hunt raffle pooling our sales efforts and proceeds.
